Uncovering The Truth
""But the LORD God called to the
man, and said to him, 'Where are you?' And
he said, 'I heard the sound of thee in the
garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked;
and I hid myself.'" (1)
Masquerade
Hewn from the ice of my cold heart,
And tainted with perception's hue,
The mask I wear holds me apart
And hides me from the other's view.
I shield my insecurity,
And shy from God's unanswered call.
Ashamed of my impurity,
Like Adam's leaves, I cover all.
From deep within my masquerade,
My will gives up its ways uncouth;
My soul surrenders its charade,
And shows its shame in light of Truth.
The Spirit shines from deep within
And melts my mask with Mercy's might.
Perception, which was skewed by sin,
Now sees the Truth in heaven's light.
When Spirit asks: "Where do you
stand?"
Drop all your leaves and take His hand!
