Fear of the Lord
"Blessed is the soul of the man
who
fears the Lord! To whom does he look?
And
who is his support? The eyes of the
Lord
are upon those who love him, a mighty
protection
and strong support, a shelter from
the hot
wind and a shade from noonday sun,
a guard
against stumbling and a defense against
falling.
He lifts up the soul and gives light
to the
eyes; he grants healing, life, and
blessing."
(1)
"Not every one who says to me, 'Lord,
Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven,
but he who does the will of my Father who
is in heaven." (2)
Friendship Revered
The Risen Lord is our dear friend,
Whose love we treasure more than gold:
We take great care not to offend;
With sanctity, His grace we hold.
We walk His way with diligence;
With love, we weigh each word and deed.
The hallmark of obedience:
To follow Him with utmost heed.
The Master's friendship we revere;
We serve freely with gratitude.
To faithful servants He draws near:
The Lord is honored; not pursued.
For those who do the Father's will,
Become His kin in ev'ry way.
His faithful servants will fulfill
His long-held dream -- that we obey.
