Entering The Sacred Space
"And when you pray, you must not be
like the hypocrites; for they love to stand
and pray in the synagogues and at the street
corners, that they may be seen by men. Truly,
I say to you, they have received their reward.
But when you pray, go into your room and
shut the door and pray to your Father who
is in secret; and your Father who sees in
secret will reward you." (1)
Cloister Of The Heart
Within the cloister of my heart,
There is a precious inner space:
From death and sin, it's kept apart
--
Preserved and sanctified by grace.
Within this cloister dwells my soul;
The Master's dwelling place on earth:
He holds me close; He's in control
--
Preparing me for full rebirth.
Within this cloister, I repose,
From turbulence of time and space:
Th'Eternal Now is what I've chose --
Through prayer I reach His dwelling
place.
He calls us from our busy life,
To meet Him in this sacred space:
Sin falls away, as does all strife,
When we feed from His font of grace.
Enter your cloister! Go, by grace!
Bide with the Bridegroom in His space.
