Art Of The Broken Heart

" My sacrifice, God, is a broken spirit;
God, do not spurn a broken, humbled heart.
Make Zion prosper in your good pleasure;
rebuild the walls of Jerusalem." (1)

The Master's Mosaic

Our hearts are fragile panes of glass;
Unique in their translucent hue.
They fracture as the crises pass:
The shards shatter -- too small to view.

The Master Craftsman keeps in mind,
His image of children of light;
A new creation is designed --
New hearts so precious in His sight.

The fragments of our brokenness,
He gently gathers in His hand;
They're softened by His tenderness,
And smoothed like pebbles in the sand.

He lays a canvas of mercy;
A mortar base of love is poured.
Each fragment is set carefully --
A new mosaic of the Lord!

Each broken shard has found its place
And purpose in the Master's plan.
Our brokenness, transformed by grace --
A masterpiece by God in man!
