Consumed By The Living Flame

"Our God is a consuming fire." (1)

"They said to each other, 'Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the scriptures?'" (2)

My Candle Burns

My heart's a candle that's melting ;
Consumed within the Living Flame.
What's cold and hard is softening;
Once melted, it's never the same.

The Flame consumes impurity,
Transforming it into Love's light:
What was lost in obscurity,
Now shines the Truth; defying night.

The Flame centers about the wick:
This common thread remains God's will.
The constant burn is not a trick;
Centered on Love, I have my fill.

O Living Flame! Cease not Your burn.
Your melting Love is what I yearn!
