One With My Lord
"So Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly,
I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of
the Son of man and drink his blood, you have
no life in you; he who eats my flesh and
drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will
raise him up at the last day. For my flesh
is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood
abides in me, and I in him. As the living
Father sent me, and I live because of the
Father, so he who eats me will live because
of me." (1)
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock;
if any one hears my voice and opens the door,
I will come in to him and eat with him, and
he with me." (2)
Full Communion
My Lord, You shed Your blood for me;
You gave up life that I may live.
With this great love, You set me free:
You gave up all; what can I give?
Your flesh meets mine with host consumed;
Your blood sheds love with cup outpoured;
Your soul fills mine with life attuned:
Divinity! One with my Lord!
His offering, wholly consumed,
Enjoins His soul to mine by grace.
My offering, gently perfumed,
Draws Him to banquet at my place.
I place my flesh into Your hand;
I pour my heart into Your cup;
I yield my soul without demand:
To You, my life, I offer up.
The Eucharist renews God's plan:
Full communion of God with man!
