He Carries Us To Full-Term
"Hearken to me, O house of Jacob, all
the remnant of the house of Israel, who have
been borne by me from your birth, carried
from the womb; even to your old age I am
He, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I
have made, and I will bear; I will carry
and will save." (1)
"Jesus answered and said to him, 'Amen,
amen, I say to you, no one can see the kingdom
of God without being born from above.' Nicodemus
said to him, 'How can a person once grown
old be born again? Surely he cannot reenter
his mother's womb and be born again, can
he?' Jesus answered, 'Amen, amen, I say to
you, no one can enter the kingdom of God
without being born of water and Spirit. What
is born of flesh is flesh and what is born
of spirit is spirit.'" (2)
Carried Within the Womb
My soul's a babe within God's womb;
Developing while I'm on earth:
My flesh is destined for the tomb;
My soul's preparing for re-birth.
All of God's children flourish here;
They nurse from His wellspring of grace.
He shelters us; we need not fear:
Within this womb each has a place.
When we are born, we'll dwell with
Him:
Dandled as toddlers on His knee.
While in this womb, our sight is dim:
By faith we'll find our destiny.
For we are formed within God's will;
He provides for our every need:
What seems a harsh struggle uphill,
Is our soul's food if we pay heed!
Form me, O Lord, within Your womb!
Your will be done! Prepare my room!
