Unshakable Confidence

"I will sing of thy steadfast love, O LORD, for ever; with my mouth I will proclaim thy faithfulness to all generations. For thy steadfast love was established for ever, thy faithfulness is firm as the heavens." (1)

"This saying is trustworthy: If we have died with him we shall also live with him; if we persevere we shall also reign with him. But if we deny him he will deny us. If we are unfaithful he remains faithful, for he cannot deny himself." (2)

The Faithful One

Yahweh, You are the Faithful One;
Unchangeable in all Your ways.
Your constant love shines like the sun;
Its warmth and light dispels my haze.

A house of faith built on this Rock,
Unshakable in Confidence,
Withstands the storms of sin that shock
The shack built on self-reliance.

Merciful Love will not reject
The sinner, sincere and contrite;
Oceans of Love cannot neglect
My drop of need in the dark night.

Love is steadfast in faithfulness.
Secured, it yields a living hope,
Which draws me out of my darkness
Where despair forms a slipp'ry slope.

Yahweh, secure my confidence.
Your constant love is providence!
