Friends Of Love
"As the Father has loved me, so have
I loved you; abide in my love. If you keep
my commandments, you will abide in my love,
just as I have kept my Father's commandments
and abide in his love. These things I have
spoken to you, that my joy may be in you,
and that your joy may be full. This is my
commandment, that you love one another as
I have loved you. Greater love has no man
than this, that a man lay down his life for
his friends. You are my friends if you do
what I command you. No longer do I call you
servants, for the servant does not know what
his master is doing; but I have called you
friends, for all that I have heard from my
Father I have made known to you." (1)
Love's Friendship
Love's friend takes her into his home;
His heart becomes her dwelling place:
What was restless, longing to roam,
Now rests with her in peace and grace.
Love's friend rejoices in her midst;
He cherishes her company:
What was doubtful and couldn't commit;
Is now solid in faith and free.
Love's friend looks with her to heaven;
They share one hope and live their
dream:
This shared vision is the leaven --
They rise together as a team.
Love's friend explores her mystery;
He draws her deep into his soul:
They become one so completely,
The two dissolve into one whole.
Love is the heart of the Divine:
She yearns for friends to take her
in;
To join their souls to hers -- the
Vine;
To live new life set free from sin.
Love is your friend; she's at the door:
Open your hear; she asks no more!
