Universal Love

"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide; so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. This I command you, to love one another." (John 15:12-17)

Love's Cosmos

I saw the souls like grains of sand:
Countless; suspended in God's love.
Each one was placed as God had planned;
His will governed all from above.

I saw Love's heart glow at the core:
(Love is the stem cell of all life)
It ebbed and flowed forevermore;
Its peace and joy were ever rife.

Then I saw friendship, like a bridge,
Cross the abyss from core to soul:
Love calls us 'friend' -- it's our priv'lege;
Becoming Love's friend is our goal.

Love's friend holds this cosmos within:
Its core beats with the Triune One.
Friendship flows out, then Love goes in:
Warming the soul like springtime sun.

To souls we bridge; Love's friendship flows --
That's how the cosmos of Love grows!
