On Earth As It Is In Heaven
"And when the ten heard it, they were
indignant at the two brothers. But Jesus
called them to him and said, 'You know that
the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them,
and their great men exercise authority over
them. It shall not be so among you; but whoever
would be great among you must be your servant,
and whoever would be first among you must
be your slave; even as the Son of man came
not to be served but to serve, and to give
his life as a ransom for many." (1)
Building Your Kingdom
Lord, You call us to be detached,
From all creatures of humankind;
The gate of give-and-take's unlatched:
Now I serve others without bind.
Your call to serve our fellow man,
Brings with it new community;
Now I offer all that I am:
In serving You, I am set free.
We touch each other's heart with love;
Our many gifts do complement.
Each time we fall, we rise above:
Each stumble becomes heaven-sent.
In Spirit, we follow Your lead;
In Truth, we find the road secure.
This brotherhood is heaven's seed:
Through ALL crises we will endure.
As we serve, we increase our worth
Building Your kingdom here on earth!
