Preparing Love's Eternal Dwelling Place

"So we do not lose heart. Though our
outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature
is being renewed every day. For this slight
momentary affliction is preparing for us
an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,
because we look not to the things that are
seen but to the things that are unseen; for
the things that are seen are transient, but
the things that are unseen are eternal."

Love's Eternal Fire
Ashamed by the stench of my beggar soul,
Exposed in the purity of His light;
I beg Him to cleanse me; to make me
whole:
To restore the clarity of my sight.
Shepherd takes pity on little lost
lamb,
He stoops down to pluck me from my
quagmire.
Trembling, I offer Him all that I am.
He holds me close to His heart's burning
fire.
He burns off the rags of my selfishness,
Cleanses my wounds with the wine of
His joy,
Heals all of them in His gentle kindness
--
Clothing me in a Love none can destroy.
He stills my heart and my trembling
soul;
He holds me near in a tender embrace.
His flame is kindled; engulfing me
whole
--
My emptiness filled with transforming
grace.
I yearn to know Him as He truly is,
But the Bridegroom is veiled in mystery.
The purest joy found in His gentle
bliss
Engenders a glimpse of eternity.
In that pure place, we will be as He
is:
Enrobed in His Love and feasting on
joy.
I will greet the King with a loyal kiss.
We will live in Love which none can
destroy!
