Living In The Present Moment
"Lo, I am about to create new heavens
and a new earth; The things of the past shall
not be remembered or come to mind. Instead,
there shall always be rejoicing and happiness
in what I create; For I create Jerusalem
to be a joy and its people to be a delight;
I will rejoice in Jerusalem and exult in
my people."1
"'Therefore do not be anxious, saying,
'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?'
or 'What shall we wear?' For the Gentiles
seek all these things; and your heavenly
Father knows that you need them all. But
seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things shall be yours as well.
'Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will be anxious for itself.
Let the day's own trouble be sufficient for
the day.'"2
Presence In the Present
My past I place at Your mercy;
My future's held within Your hands:
This frees my heart of its worry,
And silences my mind's demands.
I'm freed to focus on Your will;
My soul's now centered on Your grace.
What was a harsh struggle uphill,
Is now a Divine dwelling place.
I strive to serve You, Lord, in all,
Within the realm of my duty:
Each little task becomes a call,
To holiness and charity.
In each moment, You dwell fully,
In souls who respond to Your grace:
The everyday becomes holy;
Within Your will we find our place.
