True Wisdom

"Jesus then said to the Jews who had believed in him, 'If you continue in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.'" 1

"Pilate said to him, 'So you are a king?' Jesus answered, 'You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth hears my voice.' Pilate said to him, 'What is truth?'" 2

"And the Spirit is the witness, because the Spirit is the truth." 3

Truth Shines

O Spirit of Truth, sigh for me,
Shield me from the father of lies,
Whose wily ways I do despise.
With your pure light, set my mind free.

Plant Thy Word in my heart and mind,
Nurturing it in Mother Church:
In Her, there is no need to search;
For Her, Truth is clear and defined.

Her children, bathed in brilliant light,
Walk with Wisdom in their pure youth:
In humble hearts, they know the truth --
The subtle snare won't snag their sight!

But man's reason, impure at best,
Will sway with words that soothe its fear,
And stumble when Truth is unclear --
It ALWAYS fails deceiver's test!

True Wisdom is a brilliant light;
Lies of darkness shrink from its sight!
