Morning Lauds
"It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
to sing praises to thy name, O Most
High;
to declare thy steadfast love in the
morning,
and thy faithfulness by night,
to the music of the lute and the harp,
To the melody of the lyre.
For thou, O LORD, hast made me glad
by thy
work;
at the works of thy hands I sing for joy."1
Praise In The Morning
When darkness fades and then dawn breaks,
The dew's distilled in crisp spring
air.
The heart of little bird awakes;
It rises up without a care.
From peace and love, its joys arise;
They were asleep -- the night was long.
What was despairing, little cries,
Now sings staccato: bold and strong.
In peace and joy, I serve my Love:
He carries me in all my ways;
He trains my eyes to look above,
And honor Him with grateful praise.
He is my being and my light;
From breath to breath, He holds me
fast.
With gentle love and awesome might,
He holds my future and my past.
Our hearts rise with the morning sun;
With joyous praise, this day's begun.
