"My heart is stirred by a noble theme,
as I sing my ode to the king. My tongue
the pen of a nimble scribe." 1
Hear and Behold
This poem is a looking glass;
An image of your soul in mine:
From simple words, your heart may pass,
Into the hand of the Divine.
Do not glance as you hurry past,
But slow to still and stop to peer.
Savor the sound; let each word last
Reflect with me within this mirror.
Each image is an open door,
Inviting the heart and the mind,
To see things as not seen before:
Unfettering that which was blind.
Hear the heartbeat of heaven's song,
Hidden in rhythm and in rhyme.
Behold the Lamb for Whom we long;
Transcend confines of space and time.
Exhume sublime from the surreal:
Hear and behold! Reflect and feel!
