The Sacred Heart of Love
"But one of the soldiers pierced his
side with a spear, and at once there came
out blood and water. He who saw it has borne
witness--his testimony is true, and he knows
that he tells the truth--that you also may
believe." 1
With Love You Burn
O Sacred Heart of Spotless Lamb,
Pierced by the lance of human need;
You gave up all for love of man:
Your sacrifice - Love's perfect deed.
O Sacred Heart, with love You burn;
Thirsting for souls to take You in.
When I rebel, Your love I spurn;
Turning away, I fall to sin.
O Sacred Heart, Your mercy flows,
Each time my heart recants its sin.
Trusting in love, this sinner knows,
Your door's open; You'll take me in.
O Sacred Heart, lance me with love:
May my life be pure sacrifice.
Emptied of self, I'll rise above;
Filled with Your strength, grace will
suffice.
O Sacred Heart, unite our hearts:
We're one Body, in many parts.
