John 12:1-11
Jesus is worthy of all adoration, love, and
awe.
"How beautiful upon the mountains are
the feet of him who brings good tidings,
who publishes peace, who brings good tidings
of good, who publishes salvation, who says
to Zion, 'Your God reigns.' Hark, your watchmen
lift up their voice, together they sing for
joy; for eye to eye they see the return of
the Lord to Zion. Break forth together into
singing, you waste places of Jerusalem; for
the Lord has comforted his people, he has
redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord has bared his
holy arm before the eyes of all the nations;
and all the ends of the earth shall see the
salvation of our God." (1)
The Anointing
He visited at Bethany,
And rested next to Lazarus;
Martha served dinner while Mary
Anointed the feet of Jesus.
A liter of costly perfume,
She poured on his feet with great care;
Its precious fragrance filled the room,
As she stroked His feet with her hair.
At this sight, Judas was appalled;
He questioned her extravagance.
Mary, in silence, was enthralled;
Jesus chided his verbal lance.
In Mary's soul, He was adored;
To Him, she surrendered her heart.
She worshipped her Savior and Lord;
No greater joy could He impart.
Mary danced this eloquent prayer;
As heaven's fragrance filled the air.
May the Master grant us the grace of
complete
surrender and awe, that we may adore
Him
with the fullness of our souls.
