Melting The Iceberg of the Human Heart

"I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax, it is melted within my breast" 1

"He sends forth his word, and melts them; he makes his wind blow, and the waters flow." 2

Fire and Ice

Calved from the icefield Humanity
And then plunged into life's icy brine;
Set adrift by the current Divine:
Soul submerged in obscurity.
It renews the brine with purity,
As it melts in the Son's loving shine.
It grows smaller within the Divine:
Dissolving itself with certainty.

Its melting is lifted by Spirit
Up into the cloud of His Presence,
Where it is made pure in the Son's light.
Then graces rain on those who need it;
They melt into the Divine Essence,
As they're drawn through the depths of the night.
