Poverty
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for
theirs is the kingdom of heaven."1
"Take my yoke upon you, and learn from
me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and
you will find rest for your souls. For my
yoke is easy, and my burden is light."2

He Lifts The Lowly
All that I am is His free gift;
All that I have: my gifts to
share;
All I can be -- found in the
lift
Of my life in His Hand so fair!
He holds His bird next to His
heart;
With gentle hand, He coddles
it.
He feeds it and holds it apart,
From all that pulls and troubles
it.
The little bird, with grateful
eyes,
Looks to his Master's hand in
need.
He folds his wings and holds
his cries;
He trusts his Master's hand will
feed.
The poor in spirit are held close;
They find the Kingdom in His
Hand.
What costs their pride and hurts
the most
They hold in stride at His command.
The poor in heart look to His
hand
With grateful love; without demand.
