Stewards of the Lord
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures
on earth, where moth and rust consume and
where thieves break in and steal, but lay
up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where
neither moth nor rust consumes and where
thieves do not break in and steal. For where
your treasure is, there will your heart be
also." 1
"Blessed be the God and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy we
have been born anew to a living hope through
the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the
dead, and to an inheritance which is imperishable,
undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for
you, who by God's power are guarded through
faith for a salvation ready to be revealed
in the last time."2
Heaven's Treasure
Stewards entrusted with God's seed
Should yield His Will with grace and time.
The one who squanders in his greed
Will face accounting of each dime.
The yield is stored up in a place;
A treasure hidden from our sight.
Increasing with each act of grace,
These countless gems -- the Lord's delight!
The faithful stewards reign with Him;
They share His glory and His might.
Having conquered both self and sin,
They shine with Him in heaven's light.
We store up a countless treasure
When we serve God without measure.
