Healing the Wounds of Sin
In its many weaknesses and deep sinfulness,
the little bird finds itself experiencing
the deep wounds that result from sin. Little
bird realized that the first step in the
healing of deep wounds is to have them cleansed.
"When he came down from the mountain,
great crowds followed him; and behold, a
leper came to him and knelt before him, saying,
"Lord, if you will, you can make me
clean." And he stretched out his hand
and touched him, saying, "I will; be
clean." And immediately his leprosy
was cleansed." 1
Broken Wings
Physician's scalpel lifts the sin --
Reveals the rotting stench within;
Cuts away the guilt and shame,
Severs the excuse and blame:
Only a bleeding wound remains...
Aroused from stupor; truth revealed:
Broken spirit far from healed;
Pit of hopeless desolation,
Without salve of consolation.
Little bird embraces the cross with
broken
wings...
Salve of Love begins the healing;
Stitches of Hope stem the bleeding;
Bandage of Faith binds the incision:
Healed by the Mercy of Physician.
Little bird lifts up its wings to the
Divine
Physician...
Deep wounds wince at one's own touch;
May Jesus be your only crutch.
