Hearing the Call of the Shepherd
"He will feed his flock like a shepherd,
he will gather the lambs in his arms, he
will carry them in his bosom, and gently
lead those that are with young." 1
"He himself bore our sins in his body
on the tree, that we might die to sin and
live to righteousness. By his wounds you
have been healed. For you were straying like
sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd
and Guardian of your souls." 2
A Lamb Is Called
I hear the Shepherd call my name.
I fall before Him -- He is truth.
He lifts me up; I am so lame:
A careless sinner since my youth.
He gently stills my pounding heart;
I go limp as His eyes meet mine.
Sin's wounds which tore me all apart
Are now healed by His touch divine.
He shoulders me -- I am secure;
He carries me back to His flock.
My soiled fleece is now made pure.
My faith is healed -- now I can walk!
This little lamb that went astray
Now follows Him where'er He leads.
He protects me; He is my Way:
He satisfies all of my needs.
His hope is my serenity;
His healing love is my rebirth;
His faith is my security:
He is my new heaven and earth!
