The Bridge of Merciful Love

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him." 1

"For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord." 2

Bridge to Eternity

A massive abyss of fathomless girth
Spans the space between heaven and earth.
From Eternal, Infinite God of all
To finite, fragile creature so small.

All is made perfect in heaven's pure light;
Weak and sinful, I am without sight.
Works of the Father forever endure;
Results of my labor fail for sure.

The height, breadth and depth of Christ spans the girth.
Through His Perfect Love, heaven joins earth.
From Infinite Love, pure mercy will flow
To heal this broken creature below.

By faith I'll accept the sight He will give.
In His Grace, a new life I will live.
He truly dwells in my heart by rebirth:
Creating a new heaven and earth.

Nothing can sever a heart from His Love:
Jesus -- our bridge to heaven above!
