Faith: Living Waters of New Life
"Jesus said to her, 'Every one who drinks
of this water will thirst again, but whoever
drinks of the water that I shall give him
will never thirst; the water that I shall
give him will become in him a spring of water
welling up to eternal life.'"1
"When the poor and needy seek water,
and there is none, and their tongue is parched
with thirst, I the LORD will answer them,
I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
I will open rivers on the bare heights, and
fountains in the midst of the valleys; I
will make the wilderness a pool of water,
and the dry land springs of water."
2
"Therefore are they before the
throne
of God, and serve him day and night
within
his temple; and he who sits upon the
throne
will shelter them with his presence.
They
shall hunger no more, neither thirst
any
more; the sun shall not strike them,
nor
any scorching heat. For the Lamb in
the midst
of the throne will be their shepherd,
and
he will guide them to springs of living
water;
and God will wipe away every tear from
their
eyes."3

Eternal Wellspring
My soul, parched from the desert heat,
Yearns to taste the Living Water:
The fountain of new life replete;
Peace and joy that flow forever.
From living waters, I emerged;
Soul set free and sin forgiven.
The numbing drone of death's
dark dirge
Silenced by the song of Heaven.
But now I thirst to be revived;
Heart renewed and strength restored.
I find the Well for which I've
strived:
My life's Fountain: Redeeming
Lord!
His font transforms me from my
sin;
Living Waters flow from within.
