Blessed are the Meek
"O LORD, thou wilt hear the desire of
the meek; thou wilt strengthen their heart,
thou wilt incline thy ear to do justice to
the fatherless and the oppressed, so that
man who is of the earth may strike terror
no more." 1
"Blessed are the meek, for they shall
inherit the earth." 2
"Now the man Moses was very meek, more
than all men that were on the face of the
earth. And he said, 'Hear my words: If there
is a prophet among you, I the LORD make myself
known to him in a vision, I speak with him
in a dream. Not so with my servant Moses;
he is entrusted with all my house. With him
I speak mouth to mouth, clearly, and not
in dark speech; and he beholds the form of
the LORD." 3
Mighty in Meekness
When bully bellows at his door,
The victim loses self-control.
He takes his place down on the floor;
Surrendering both heart and soul.
With cross in hand, the truly meek
Face every storm with steadfast heart.
Aggressors mistake them for weak
And try to tear their souls apart.
With face like flint and heart of love,
I slowly turn the other cheek.
My strength is from the Lord above!
Each storm strengthens the truly meek.
With each death, they renew their birth;
Thus, the meek inherit the earth.
