A Mother's Heart
"Mary said, 'Behold, I am the handmaid
of the Lord. May it be done to me according
to Your word.'" 1
"And the Word became flesh and made
his dwelling among us, and we saw His glory,
the glory as of the Father's only Son, full
of grace and truth." 2
"But Mary kept all these things, pondering
them in her heart."3
"Jesus answered him, 'If a man loves
me, he will keep my word, and my Father will
love him, and we will come to him and make
our home with him.'" 4

Heaven in a Mother's Heart
With loving consent, a mother of clay
Receives His Word deep in her
heart's womb.
A child of light conceived in
this way
Is nurtured to life by her Bridegroom.
The pitter-patter of her new
heartbeat
Quickens her mother's heart to
sow love.
The gentle tap of her tiny new
feet
Nudges her mother to look above.
Her mother is struggling to find
a cure
For the nauseous taste of earth's
rich food.
She chooses a diet simple and
pure:
She nurtures His Word in solitude.
Mother and child: together made
whole;
One in New Life infused from
above.
Heaven on earth in her heart
joined to soul;
The Word made flesh in faith,
hope, and love.
