Pathways Of Peace

How often we are caught up in the petty matters of this life! Is peace, which seems so fleeting at times, worth pursuing? In the peace of Christ, we are shown the way to eternal life.

"So He came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near; for through Him both of us have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. In Him the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are built together spiritually into a dwelling place for God." (Ephesians 2.17-22)

The Peace of Christ

In peace, Christ has prepared a place;
In Him, all souls can find their home.
All is restored in His embrace;
He is the soul's perfect shalom.

The deepest peace a soul can know:
A drop of the eternal springs,
Where life and love forever flow,
With freedom from life's sufferings.

A soul must wait at heaven's gate
'Til peace is perfect and complete;
For souls left in a weakened state,
His grace and mercy are replete.

All souls are joined in communion
With Christ in everlasting peace:
Eternal life flows from the Son;
His steadfast love will never cease.

Life is complete and joy is full;
The paths of peace are eternal.

"May the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The One who calls you is faithful, and He will do this." (1 Thessalonians 5.23-24)

Lord Jesus, sanctify me entirely in Your peace, and draw me home to the place you have prepared for me, both in this life and in life eternal. Amen.
