Third Meditation
(Third Conversation)
"A strong city have we; he sets up walls
and ramparts to protect us. Open up the gates
to let in a nation that is just, one that
keeps faith. A nation of firm purpose you
keep in peace; in peace, for its trust in
you." Trust in the LORD forever! For
the LORD is an eternal Rock…The way of the
just is smooth; the path of the just you
make level. Yes, for your way and your judgements,
O LORD, we look to you; Your name and your
title are the desire of our souls. My soul
yearns for you in the night, yes, my spirit
within me keeps vigil for you." (1)
By Way of Trust
The walls of faith are foundation
For all that grows within her space;
Cast in concrete -- they're unshaken
By storms of doubt which could efface.
She trusts her Master in all ways;
He will not fail her nor mislead.
This confidence is the great praise
Of hearts who trust by word and deed.
For hearts of faith, His will is clear;
He provides all they need at hand.
In each action, the Master's near,
To guide her as the tasks demand.
She knows He provides what is best;
There is no cause for fear or flight.
No storm, however great, arrests,
His grace that flows by day and night.
Her trust in Him is the sure way;
Without trust, all is disarray.
May the Master provide us with the grace
to trust in Him completely at all times,
in all places and circumstances.
