Drawn Home By Mercy

"Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy steadfast love; according to thy abundant mercy blot out my transgressions. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me." (1)

"For God delivered all to disobedience, that he might have mercy upon all." (2)

Bring the lost home to the altar;
Let my children come to me.
All hearts that have failed can falter --
Find rest in Love's rich mercy.

Bring the broken here before Me;
Let them know Love's healing touch.
All's forgiven in Love's mercy --
Hold Love and discard the crutch.

Bring the old self before the cross;
Let it feel the weight of sin.
Christ will draw love from all the dross --
Transformation will begin.

Bring the fledgling soul to know Me;
Let it learn the ways of prayer.
Strengthened by Love, it grows slowly --
Soar in Spirit's loving care.

Bring my faithful resurrection;
Let them see the empty tomb.
Hearts which withstood insurrection
Celebrate with their Bridegroom.
