At His Feet

"'Rather, when you are invited, go and take the lowest place so that when the host comes to you he may say, 'My friend, move up to a higher position.' Then you will enjoy the esteem of your companions at the table. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.'" (1)

"He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love." (2)

Upon The Feet

A simple prayer of loving gaze
Upon the feet of Majesty:
The Master's feet have walked the ways
Of Mount Tabor and Calvary.

Transfigured for the chosen few;
Disfigured for the lot of all:
The Master's feet were nailed and slew;
Yet rose to save us from our fall.

Etched in His flesh, the shards of stone;
Our sins went with Him to the cross.
The Master's feet became the throne
For souls in sin -- no one's a loss!

I empty myself at His feet;
I grasp the cross -- a prostrate soul.
In my abandonment, I meet
The fullness of His love made whole.

From at His feet I look above
And feel His glory streaming down.
When we look to the Lord with love,
He shares the glory of His crown!

The contrite heart kneels at His feet --
The banquet hall's most cherished seat!
