Love Soars
"Likewise the Spirit helps us in our
weakness; for we do not know how to pray
as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes
for us with sighs too deep for words. And
he who searches the hearts of men knows what
is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit
intercedes for the saints according to the
will of God. We know that in everything God
works for good with those who love him, who
are called according to his purpose. For
those whom he foreknew he also predestined
to be conformed to the image of his Son,
in order that he might be the first-born
among many brethren. And those whom he predestined
he also called; and those whom he called
he also justified; and those whom he justified
he also glorified…Who shall separate us from
the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or
distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness,
or peril, or sword? For I am sure that neither
death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,
nor things present, nor things to come, nor
powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything
else in all creation, will be able to separate
us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our
Lord." (1)
He Lifts Us to Himself
The Son of God, with arms outstretched,
Invites all souls to hear His call.
He won't discern beloved or wretched;
With open arms, He welcomes all.
He draws them to Himself in love,
And fills them with humility.
In His embrace, they rise above
All of their faults, by His mercy.
Nothing, nothing, nothing but love!
When all is still, He lifts them high:
Higher, higher, higher above --
All spirits soar on Spirit's sigh!
O Breath of God! O Love Divine!
You re-create the human soul:
Though we are broken by design,
In Your pure love, we are made whole!
O Lord help me: to hear Your call;
To trust Your touch -- Your healing
hold;
Without constraint, to offer all --
Your love is strong, daring, and bold!
