Planting Fields Of Love
"Beloved, let us love one another, because
love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten
by God and knows God. Whoever is without
love does not know God, for God is love…This
is the commandment we have from him: whoever
loves God must also love his brother."
(1)
Put Love
Put love where there is selfishness;
A closed-in heart responds in kind,
When it is shown some small kindness
--
In ev'ry heart, there's love to find.
Put love where God is pushed aside;
A blinded heart may see the light:
That God is love -- truth will collide
And scatter darkness -- yielding sight.
Put love where love has been misled;
In your service, show them the way:
That love gives of itself instead
Of seeking love returned as pay.
Put love where there's anxiety;
A worried heart may find it's peace.
Love brings a new tranquility:
A placid lake without a crease.
Put love where there's indifference;
A lukewarm heart may feel the flame
Of love melting its self-pretense:
Those touched by love are ne'er the
same.
For love is reaped from where it's
sewn
If love is planted, field on field,
The kingdom of heaven is grown:
One-hundredfold -- an awesome yield!
