Our Calling

"When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; pray therefore the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.'" 1

The Call of Vocation

Vocations are the fruit of prayer:
Reflecting God's life from within;
Disbursing His grace with great care;
According to His plan and whim.

Vocations are apostolate:
Attending to the soul in need;
A presence to the desolate --
His Spirit's made concrete in deed.

Vocations bind us to His will:
He leads us gently by the hand;
We walk through wilderness uphill --
A desert road to promised land.

Through desert nights, cling to His Hand;
He'll chart the way through drifting sand.
