Beckoned Home
"O magnify the LORD with me, and let
us exalt his name together! I sought the
LORD, and he answered me, and delivered me
from all my fears…O taste and see that the
LORD is good! Happy is the man who takes
refuge in him!…When the righteous cry for
help, the LORD hears, and delivers them out
of all their troubles. The LORD is near to
the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed
in spirit…The LORD redeems the life of his
servants; none of those who take refuge in
him will be condemned" (1)
Taste and See
The Lord of love, with open arms,
Beckoned me home from where I stood;
He drew me out of Satan's harms.
I taste and see the Lord is good!
The Lord of light pierced through the
cloud
Perception formed like a dark hood;
His gift of faith is light-endowed.
I taste and see the Lord is good!
The Lord of peace connects my heart:
He heals what was misunderstood,
And fells the walls which kept apart.
I taste and see the Lord is good!
The Lord of hope secures my heart:
He shields my heart from all that could
Cause worry, doubt, or fear to start.
I taste and see the Lord is good!
The Lord of life restores my soul:
His flame engulfs my heart of wood;
His love burns pure -- my joy is whole.
I taste and see the Lord is good!
The Lord beckons us home for good;
Come taste and see the Lord -- you
should!
