Resist Temptation
Each person is tempted when he is lured and
enticed by his own desire. Then desire conceives
and brings forth sin, and when sin reaches
maturity it gives birth to death. (James 1:14-15)
Whoever sins belongs to the devil,
because
the devil has sinned from the beginning.
Indeed,
the Son of God was revealed to destroy
the
works of the devil. (1 John 3:8)
So submit yourselves to God. Resist
the devil,
and he will flee from you. Draw near
to God,
and He will draw near to you. Cleanse
your
hands, you sinners, and purify your
hearts,
you of two minds. (James 4:7-8)
Do not leave room for the devil. (Ephesians 4:27)
Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent
the
devil is prowling around like a roaring
lion
looking for (someone) to devour. Resist
him,
steadfast in faith, knowing that your
fellow
believers throughout the world undergo
the
same sufferings. (1 Peter 5:8-9)
Put on the armor of God so that you
may be
able to stand firm against the tactics
of
the devil. (Ephesians 6:11)
Simon, Simon, behold Satan has demanded
to
sift all of you like wheat. (Luke 22:31)
He was a murderer from the beginning
and
does not stand in truth, because there
is
no truth in him. When he tells a lie,
he
speaks in character, because he is
a liar
and the father of lies. (John 8:44)
I want you to be wise to what is good,
and
simple to what is evil; then the God
of peace
will quickly crush Satan under your
feet. (Romans 16:19-20)
Jesus said, "…Behold, I have given
you
the power 'to tread upon serpents'
and scorpions
and upon the full force of the enemy
and
nothing will harm you. (Luke 10:18-19)
Jesus said to him, "Get away,
Satan!
It is written: 'The Lord, your God,
shall
you worship and Him alone shall you
serve.'"
(Matthew 4:10)
